Obviously, the best way to get to Spain is by plane. Using Colmenar village as a base, Malaga is the closest airport about 30-40 minutes drive away. There are direct flights daily from most of the UKs airports, the best place to search is www.skyscanner.net. Flight times from the UK are approximately 3 hours.

You could also choose to fly in to Granada Airport, this is just over an hours drive from Colmenar, this option is better if you wish to avoid the Costa del Sol, although it is a much smaller airport and does not have daily flights out of season.

There is a quick and efficient bus service up to 6 times a day from the main bus station in Malaga to Colmenar. This costs less than 3 euros return. From the airport the quickest way is to catch the local train into Malaga Renfe and then walk over to the bus station. You will need to get the bus from stand 32.
